This math center is aligned to Texas TEKS K.2e and K.2g by having the students generate a set of numbers, compare the quantities, and then determine if they are more than, less than, or equal to one another while representing the quantity as well. This center includes two sets of picture cards from 1 to 20, two sets of number cards from 1 to 20, 1 activity mat, and two frogs to be glued to each others back.
To use this center your students will draw two cards and put them in the appropriate boxes on their placemats. Then, depending on if you are working on recognizing smaller or larger quantities, you will have the students place their frog with its tongue towards the desired quantity. The students will then use the recording sheets to record their numbers in the appropriate boxes, represent the quantity, and determine if its more than, less, than or equal to. How you use the picture or number cards is at your discretion. You can also use the number cards along with manipulatives to count and compare the quantities they are drawing.
