Teachers may project the slides on the board for the whole class to view as a mini-lesson that explains to students how to use Place Value to determine greater than and less than.
Slides are included that support understanding numeral values. Students will find
and circle the numbers that relate to the large red/orange number in the correct way. Using the correct symbol for greater than and less than is not introduced at first but will be included in later slides. There are numbers ranging from the low tens to the high hundreds. This gives the teacher the ability to differentiate for the various learning levels in a class.
Slides are included that may be made projected on the white board and students use a writing tool to circle the numbers that the directions specify for them to find. The slides may also be printed and used in small guided math groups, at a math station or for Tier Intervention.
Two anchor charts are included to show students how the butterfly is holding the greater than and less than sign. The students will use the anchor chart when needed to answer the slides that have greater than and less than expressions for them to solve.
One card is partially blank so it could be printed to allow students to create
there own problem. Print several of these for group work.
These could be solved whole group, small group, or at a math station.
There are 8 Student Response Sheets. These may be used for independent practice, informal assessment, or formal assessment.
