This set of lessons can be used with any curriculum or to substitute a curriculum that is lacking in number sense. We use it to supplement our Go Math curriculum. This set includes 5 PowerPoint lessons that have animation and a place for your students to practice comparing. Each lesson introduces a new concept, has a question of the day to review previous concepts and get their brains ready to think about math, five to ten slides of sample problems where students use the strategy being taught and an assessment/exit ticket. The lessons start out by supporting your students and providing basic questions that become more complex.
I like to have my students bring their white boards to the carpet to try out each problem as we do it as a class. You can choose to do the assessment (Show What You Know) slide together, on white boards or on the worksheets provided. They have been made to be simple to print and cut to reduce your prep time.
The lessons include:
Matching Sets to 5
Counting Sets to 5
These PowerPoints are locked so that you are unable to edit them. You will open them in Read Only. You will still be able to see the animation and write on the lessons in PowerPoint. I have included directions on how to do that in written and video format.
