Comparing organisms - NGSS Aligned
If you are teaching your students to compare plants or animals as they grow, this product is for you! It includes life cycles, Venn diagrams and a worksheet to compare and contrast the young organism with the adult organism.
The following life cycle charts are included for frogs, butterflies and plants:
*Labeled life cycle
*Cut and paste life cycle chart with pictures (glue the words to match)
*Cut and paste blank life cycle chart (cut out pictures and glue in order – no labels)
*Blank life cycle charts with 4 or 5 arrows
There are different ways to record similarities and differences between babies and adults for frogs, butterflies, plants, hens and humans:
*Venn diagram with lines for writing
*Worksheet with spots to describe each individually and to list similarities and differences
*Blank versions of all of the above
The butterfly life cycle has versions for pupa or chrysalis, depending on the vocabulary you use with your class.
This product is aligned with NGSS 1-LS3-1. “Make observations to construct an evidence-based account that young plants and animals are like, but not exactly like, their parents.”
