Product Description
This chart is for use with the Prentice Hall American Experience literature book stories "When Grizzlies Walked Upright," "The Navajo Origin Legend" and "The Earth on Turtle's Back."

In class instruction, I have students read "The Earth on.." and "The Navajo..." with me, then read ONE of the following: "When Grizzlies..." (average readers), the creation of Narnia from _The Magician's Nephew_ (lower readers), or the creation of Middle Earth from _The Simirillian_ (advanced readers). We then compare story archetypes and discuss connections with texts, connection with self, and connections to the world.
