Investigate the reflections made following the loss of Martin Luther King, Jr. while teaching students the effects of genre.  In this lesson, students compare and contrast the messages presented by Robert F. Kennedy and Nikki Giovanni regarding the impact of Dr. King’s assassination.  Using evidence from the text, they work together to analyze each author’s presentation and central ideas to decide and defend which was most effective.
