Product Description
This lab takes several weeks and tracks the growth of radish and pea plants from seeds to seedlings. I used a free website to graph the growth of the two plants using a double line graph: http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/ . You soak the seeds the day before planting them to soften the seed coat, then have the children plant their seeds in peat pots using soil pellets. I used a greenhouse and my students LOVED watching their seedlings grow and measuring the length of the stems. Some also measured the length of the roots within the soil. This experiment was judged by my students as their all-time favorite. I have included lots of space for drawing and labeling observations.
