Product Description
In this lesson, students will take use parts (excerpts) of speeches given by Nelson Mandela, F.W.de Klerk, and Mohandas Gandhi to find the power words in each speech. Students will then sort the words into the three-column-chart categories: empathy, failure, and success. The students will then discuss and give evidence as to why, they put each word in the category. Teachers can differentiate this lesson by using the speeches individually or separately depending on the time and need of the classroom setting. Each leader presented in this lesson is also a key leader in 7th Grade Georgia World History, so you can help students build upon the knowledge they must gain in ELA and SS.
