Our students need clarity when it comes to English terminology. Use the “Comparing Topic, Main Idea, Theme, and Moral” document for poster use or student reference. Your students can also cut, fold, or cover parts of the document in order to compare: topic vs. theme, topic vs. main idea, main idea vs. theme, theme vs. moral, etc.
The four concepts are compared to each other based on the following categories:
★ word/phrase or sentence
★ explicit (directly stated) or implicit (indirectly stated)
★ objective (neutral) or subjective (one-sided)
★ specific to the text or universal and applicable to many texts
This product is very comprehensive!
