This is a nonfiction text set that includes 6 original passages that will allow your students to practice comparing and contrasting.
The topics include:
Great white shark/hammerhead shark
Each passage also has 4 multiple choice questions that ask about comprehension, recalling details, and comparing/contrasting.
There is a bonus activity that includes a page of interview questions that you can have your students use to interview a friend and then compare/contrast themselves with their friend.
I have also included ways to differentiate this activity and ideas on how to use it. You can even just use the passages to help tie in nonfiction text into your common core lessons!
*Please note that these passages are a little more complex. For that reason I think they are appropriate for grades 3-5. I have listed the item for grades 2-5 because they could possibly be used with higher 2nd graders or with teacher support (for 2nd or lower 3rd graders). You know your students best!
