This fraction craftivity is a fun, engaging way for students to practice comparing and ordering fractions! Each student has a baking sheet and a choice of three types of cookies. Students cut out each type of cookie and fold (or divide) them into a certain number of equal parts. They color a fraction of each cookie, then order them on the sheet from smallest to largest (or largest to smallest) cookie fraction. This center is a real world problem solving experience for students which also encourages critical thinking.

This resource can be used in the following ways:
1. Use as a math center activity during your fractions unit. (It may take more than one rotation to complete.)
2. Use as a culminating activity after teaching students to compare and order fractions.
* Cookies are not perfect circles, rectangles, etc. , therefore fractions will not be exact. This is a real world experience, however, you may like to mention this to your students. This activity also makes a great display!
