Virtue Voucher

Hands of Compassion – Makes a great bulletin board! Students prewrite ways they can show compassion in their lives (template included.) Then, they will trace their arms and write their ideas on the arms. They can be displayed as a line of hands touching (so it looks like holding hands).

Video/Stories – (sample answers included) There is 1 video and 2 storybook processing pages. The processing page helps them think about what the story says about COMPASSION. Please make sure you view them prior to the students to ensure they are appropriate for your class. An additional book list is included for more reading.

Compassion Role Play – 12 situations that commonly happen (plenty of roles for an entire class) Students can act these out to practice showing compassionate choices and using language that shows friendliness and compassion.

Get Well Cards – Template for making cards for someone who is sick. Many options for how to distribute: to people they know, to a local pharmacy to hand out with prescriptions, or to a local hospital.

Compassion Debates – 10 discussion starters about compassion – great for Morning Meeting! After discussing, the students can fill out the processing page with a partner.

Compassion Word Wall – Common words used when talking about compassion. Students can use for speaking and writing.

Random Acts of Kindness Cards – 12 Ideas for FREE Random Acts of Kindness around the school. You can pull one card in the morning and set it as a goal for the day. Then, check in at the end of the day to see how we did.

Random Acts of Kindness at Home – Ideas of Random Acts of Kindness at home (almost all are free.) This can be optional for kids to do and celebrate all your acts at the end of the month.
