This exciting STEM Investigation is guaranteed to challenge and engage your students.
This week long project involves the students working in groups, or individually to create a design that holds the most amount of weight while meeting the projects constraints and criteria. The project involves students conducting research, planning and sketching out their design, building, testing and rebuilding and then finally a presentation of their design. In addition to being an engaging hands-on lesson, this lesson also help students build towards their understating of the Next Generation Science Standards.
This Lesson Plan Includes
- 5 days of highly detailed, step-by-step lesson plans that can be used as designed or modified for your specific students. Lesson plans are in the 5 "E" format and are great resources for your STEM unit, teacher evaluations, or substitute plans.
-5 days of Power Point presentations. The presentations match directly with the investigation lesson plans and student work sheets. The presentations are used in conjunction with the other materials to help support visual learners.
-5 days of student worksheets. These work sheets are used to progressively grow your students understanding of Truss bridge designs and the STEM process.
