It's a fact! Many people, often because of economic or environmental concerns, are choosing to live in tiny houses. However, these aren't the drab, dreary, featureless shacks of the past. Today's tiny homes are packed with many of the same comforts and conveniences common to large homes. Watch your students have lots of fun discussing "living small" in this highly engaging lesson. Enjoy!
This lesson is appropriate for adult English language learners at the advanced level, but can be adapted for the high-intermediate level as well. It has a discussion phase (to activate schema and build background knowledge), vocabulary study phase, a reading/listening passage followed by reading/listening comprehension questions, some additional role-play activities and a writing exercise. I have used it in individual and large group settings, and found it to be a very flexible and useful resource.
