This file could be used several ways. It could be used to determine the difference between subject and predicate, it could be used to determine the difference between sentence and fragment, or it could be used to categorize subjects, predicates, and complete sentences.

Suggested use:

1:
Tape categories around the room
Give students a sentence card
Have the students find their correct category
Have them check each other and make sure they're in the correct group

2:
Pass out subject cards to half of the students
Hand out corresponding predicate cards to the other half
Have students match themselves
Then have them add the capitalization and punctuation together on paper or whiteboards.

3:
Hand out subject and predicate cards
Ask students with subject cards to identify the simple subject
Ask students with predicate cards to identify the simple predicate

4:
Pair students
Have them sort cards into categories on the floor
Code the back of the cards with permanent marker for it to be self checking
(Example: 1's = subject, 2's=predicates, 3's=complete sentences)
