Using the Song, HOY ES DOMINGO by Ruben Blades, the class will have a chance to interact with the text and video, focusing on the vocabulary for the house, family and present tense conjugations for -ar verbs.
1. Play the music video and students write down as many words that they can hear in Spanish. This can be a competition or not.
2. Using the PowerPoint, and whiteboards, students play the game "Pizarra Flash." Each PowerPoint slide has a scene from the music video with a sentence describing what is happening. The sentence has blank spaces for the family member, the verb (-ar ending verbs in the present tense) and the place the action occurred in.
3. TA potential third game can be played with the "Hoy es Domingo Visual Lyrics. This can be purchased separately for $1.00.
