Completing the Square Scavenger Hunt:
The objective of this activity is for students to solidify their knowledge solving quadratic equations by completing the square in a way that is engaging and requires student discourse. *Answer key included*
Print each of the following pages on colored paper and hang around the room (my students also loved it when I placed some of pages in the hallway). This will give you 12 stations (12 quadratic equations). Give each student the Scavenger Hunt Worksheet. In partners or individually, the students will first pick a station to begin with (they can begin anywhere). They must solve the quadratic equation from that station and write their solution on their worksheet. The students will then use that answer to determine which station to head to next (answers are written in the upper left-hand corner of each station). This means that the answer to a station is not written on it's station - the students must find that answer on another station. Once they arrive at an answer, they will need to walk around the room looking for that answer and then solve the problem from that station.
