Use these notes and practice worksheets to make teaching this skill easier.
Students will solve quadratic equations by completing the square when the a value equals one, as well as when it is not equal to one.
I hope you enjoy the versatility of the notes. They will work well in interactive notebooks as well as with more traditional note-taking formats. The foldable notes are accompanied by two sets of examples, each including three problems and progressing in difficulty.
Two worksheets (12 questions each) are included in this product. Because I teach simplifying radicals before completing the square, I have left answers in radical form. If you prefer, you may have students put their answers in decimal form instead.
Worksheet A: 12 equations with the a value equal to one
Worksheet B: 12 equations with the a value not equal to one
