Designed for an elementary classroom, this is a character education activity integrated into a language arts project. Students are asked to come up with a compliment for each student in their classroom, emphasizing that we can find something to appreciate about everyone, regardless of whether we’re friends or not. Students work to create a complete sentence (or more, if you so direct them) of something that they appreciate about each member of their class. Each page is then bound into a special book that students will treasure from their year in your classroom!
You could also use this template to make a compliment book for your students to make each member of the school staff for a thoughtful end-of-the year appreciation gift!
Multiple cover sheets are included so that you can personalize the project to your grade level (first through fifth grades are included) or special area.
This is a great end-of-the year project that will bring the year to a close on a positive note. :) After an initial explanation and work session, this project could be used as "What do I do when I'm done?" activity for students.
