This file has three printable pages. The first is of a color wheel in black and white. When the lesson and experiment are over with your students can make their own color wheel. You can have them color them, use cut paper, paint or pictures of fruits and vegetables. The second is of the lesson with a close reading paragraph and four questions. The first three are answered after they read the paragraph. The fourth one is discussed and answered after they do the experiment. You will see a yellow triangle at the bottom of the page. Students stare into the yellow triangle for 1 minute then look away on to a white piece of paper. They will see the color purple which is the complimentary color of yellow. They love this experiment and will want to do it over and over again. The third sheet is the lesson without the colored triangle. You will need to color shapes at the bottom of each page you hand out so that there are a variety of shapes and colors. Ex.. some blue squares, some red rectangles, some orange circles, etc. Try to have a few of each color from the color wheel. The three primary colors and the three secondary colors. Primary colors are red, blue and yellow, Secondary colors are purple, green and orange.
