Looking for ways to integrate more listening lessons and music history into your general music class? This colorful "Composer of the Month" set focuses on John Williams, and is the fifth in the series!

*Directions to "Follow Me" Activity to "Cantina Band" (appropriate for grades K-1)

*Listening lesson slideshow for John Williams' "Imperial March" (appropriate for grade 4 and above: two versions are included, one to practice tim-ka, or dotted eighth/sixteenth, and one to practice eighth rest)

*Listening lesson slideshow for John Williams' "Jurassic Park" theme (appropriate for grade 4 and above--this lesson focuses on a theme with low ti)

*"Be a composer like Williams" worksheet (appropriate for grade 1 and above--separate composition worksheets for each of these concepts: ta and ti-ti, quarter rest, tika-tika, half note, ti-tika, tika-ti, syncopa, and tim-ka)

*Movement activity (50 printable sheets with clip art of Williams with movement directions on each--25 in color and 25 in black and white), appropriate for grades 1-5. Can be used with Williams piece of your choice

*Listening worksheet--can be used with Williams piece of your choice

*Composer/ Conductor/ Musician worksheet: Students write about why Williams is a composer, conductor, and musician, and which career they would choose if they could, and why

*"Which movie" activity: Students guess which films Williams composed for based off of visuals. Also includes YouTube videos of orchestras playing each piece (most of which are also conducted by Williams). These can be used as additional clues, or as listening opportunities.

*Composer of the month bulletin board visuals (includes letters for "Composer of the month," Picture of Williams, Williams quotes, World map pointing to United States, and Visuals for some of Williams' most well-known works)

*Did You Know Cards: Includes 8 different interesting facts about Williams. These can be used during music lessons and/or read on morning announcements during the month Williams is being studied
