Looking for ways to integrate more listening lessons and music history into your general music class? This colorful "Composer of the Month" set focuses on Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and is the eighth in the series!

*Directions to "Follow Me" Activity to "The Nutcracker Overture" (appropriate for grades K-1--a similar file is in my Visuals and Activities for the Nutcracker set.

*Listening lesson slideshow for Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" (appropriate for grade 4 and above--this lesson focuses on eighth rest)

*Listening lesson for Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 4" (appropriate for grades 4 and above--focuses on tam-ti or dotted quarter/ eighth, and uses the song "Little Birch Tree," which is included)

*"Be a composer like Tchaikovsky" worksheet (appropriate for grade 1 and above--separate composition worksheets for each of these concepts: ta and ti-ti, quarter rest, tika-tika, half note, ti-tika, tika-ti, syncopa, and tim-ka)

*Movement activity to Tchaikovsky's "Chinese Dance" (50 printable sheets with clip art of Tchaikovsky with movement directions on each--25 in color and 25 in black and white, and PowerPoint with embedded music), appropriate for grades 1-5.

*Listening response worksheet--can be used with Tchaikovsky piece of your choice
