Learn music history together as a class with this engaging student driven activity. Promote researching skills, creativity, and intuition into the minds of famous musical composers.
**Set the desks/tables up in a circle so that all of the students to see each other.
Students will be graded on the preparation and knowledge of their composer (which are chosen by random out of a hat). The students must be able to speak openly about their composer in the first person. The composers will first introduce themselves to one another (introduction paragraphs), then the question and answer period will begin. The students will be given a question that they can answer in the eyes of their composer. This will trigger discussion between composers about musical topics. When the gavel is hit, the teacher will give a new question to discuss. Let's see which composers agree and disagree about different musical topics! Be ready to discuss MUSICAL STYLES!!!!
The students are encouraged to act out the part of their composers including language accents and costumes!
