Composing Dice is a great game for reviewing & recognizing music notation. Players collect six different color/patterned cards by rolling six dice to compose the notation on each card. Each color/pattern card represents the number of dice necessary to complete the card. As an added level, players must identify the symbol or perform the rhythm before earning each card. This is a fun activity for music centers or sub tubs!
Time signatures - 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8, common time, and cut time - make up 1 die. Dynamics ranging from pp to ff are on another dice. The remaining 4 dice include the rhythms - whole note, dotted half note, half note, dotted quarter note, quarter note, quarter rest, single eighth note, joined eighth notes, and triplet.
Instructions for assembling the dice, full color and black & white options for the game are all included.
