This is a simple template that I use when introducing or reviewing 16th notes. In this activity students use circle stickers or bingo markers to compose. They decide how many sounds they would like on each beat and the place a corresponding number of dots in that beat box. After they have done that we clap them like regular rhythms and then write the notation. What note makes one sound on the beat? That's the note we write under our dots.

Included in this kit is the template in color (It prints very well in black and white.) and an idea sheet full of suggestions for this activity.
