### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Composite Surface Area and Volume Scavenger Hunt

In this activity, students will solve problems to find the surface area and volume of composite solids. There are 8 stations.

Make sure these problems are appropriate for your students - download the preview and look at the thumbnails to see problem examples. All of the problems are shown in the preview. Two versions of the stations are given: full color and black and white. A student answer sheet and answer key are included.

Scavenger hunts are great because they get students up and moving around the room. They also encourage students to check their work carefully since an incorrect answer will leave them stuck at a dead end. Successfully completing the scavenger hunt requires students to slow down and check their work.

This activity can be completed individually or in pairs. A student answer sheet is included. Each student or group is given an answer sheet, then assign them a station where they will start. Students will copy the letter of the station where they begin, then they will solve the problem. After solving the problem, students will "hunt" for the next card that contains their answer from the previous problem. They will continue working in this fashion. When they have correctly solved all 10 problems, they will end with the station where they began.
