Allow your students to demonstrate their understanding of compound and absolute value inequalities through this task card matching activity. Task cards are a great way to achieve academic success in a mathematics classroom. To complete the activity, each student should complete his/her set of seven task cards by solving the given compound inequality. One task card from each of the three sets will result in the same solution set. Students should paste their matching task cards on the final product pages and complete each page by identifying the solution set and graphing it on the number line provided. If you chose, conduct the follow-up discussion and extension questions as a whole group, or have the students complete these questions on an index card in their groups.
