These are brilliant ways to constantly remind your students about grammar terms. Just print these thumb nails and get them laminated and stick the cards in the corners of your students' desks a different stages in the year.
There are x3 three sets of thumb nails to be laminated and stuck on students' desks
-FANBOYS and AAWWWIBBUS (these help students remember compound and complex sentences conjunctions) Type in AAAWWWIBBUS to youtube for some great videos how to teach kids to use these types of conjunctions
- COMMAS thumb nails for desks (i've added a couple of different size thumb nails)
This unique mnemonic device titled C.O.M.M.A.S. lists, with examples, the six main uses of the comma. Each category has a brief explanation and a few examples for the students to immitate. It is an excellent tool for teaching this confusing grammar topic.
IN ADDITION! x1 giant x3 by x3 A4 sized paper poster that can be laminated and made into a large COMMAS poster (At eye level this poster is a little blurry - but from a distance it is a perfect class display tool)
-Conjunctive adverb practice thumbnails. Conjunctive adverbs are used to create advanced compound sentences. Once you teach your kids FANBOYS - later in the year change the thumb to conjunctive adverbs
There's more! These very engaging videos were created to be taught alongside the C.O.M.M.A.S. unit. Each video goes with one letter of the mnemonic. Check them out here:
