This packet contains examples of all types of compound inequality problems. It starts with writing compound inequalities from a number line. Next students write and graph compound inequalities from a verbal phrase. There is more than a page of story problems that can be described using compound inequalities. At the end, students solve compound inequalities.
Most of the problems are very basic because the purpose of this packet was for guided practice with the whole Algebra 1 class. I did include a few problems to get the kids thinking about why we write inequalities the way that we do and what happens in the weird cases (like when both arrows point the same direction.)
