This resource is provided for teachers who do not necessarily want a worksheet to give students compound sentence building practice. I noticed what students really needed practice on related to this skill was remembering the comma and choosing an appropriate conjunction. This resource sets up practice for those things. Students will find the two sentences that can be combined together, use a macaroni as the comma, and choose a conjunction to connect the sentences. Directions and simple sentences are included in this resource. Teacher needs to print as many sets as desired, cut sentences, put in baggies with macaronis and small post it pads and voila, the practice is set up. This can be a center or a whole class activity.
