Compound Sentences Task Cards: This set includes 16 Task Cards to be used while teaching or reviewing compound sentences.
Three differentiated sets are included to best fit the needs of your student(s).
If using set one, students will choose the correct conjunction for the compound sentence and will write ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, or ‘D’ on the recording sheet provided. Students will choose between the conjunctions ‘and’, ‘but’, ‘or’, or ‘so’.
If using set two, students will read two simple sentences then combine them to make a compound sentence using the conjunctions ‘and’, ‘but’, ‘or’, and ‘so’. Students will write the new compound sentence on the recording sheet provided.
If using set three, students will read the sentence starter and will complete the compound sentence by writing a clause that would make sense with the given sentence starter and conjunction. Students will write the created sentence on the recording sheet provided.
An answer key is provided for Set one and Set two. Set three does not have an answer key due to the open-ended format.
This set will look best if printed in color on white card stock or greyscale on colored card stock. Then, laminate and cut out to use year after year!
