This resource is a compound word bingo game. It contains 6 bingo cards - each card has its own set of compound word pictures. There is a card to match each picture. Laminate and cut out all cards and place face down. Turn over the top card and read the compound word, the player with the matching picture may take the card and place over their picture. First player to cover all their pictures is the winner.
As an extension to this activity, I get my pupils to think of a sentence containing each compound word on their board and write it in their jotters. Alternatively, they could verbally give a sentence.
This is a great game to develop and consolidate children's knowledge of compound words.
This game is ideal for small instruction groups. The game can be printed more than once meaning more than one group could play at a time - I even have the whole class playing in different groups sometimes and then follow this with a written activity!
