This game includes 42 cards that focus on compound words. My recommendation is to print this game on card stock, laminate and then cut. By doing this, the game will be sturdy and last!
I play this game like the classic memory match-up.
1.Place cards face down on floor.
2.Players will take turns flipping over two cards.
3.Be sure to remember what cards you flipped.
4.If a player gets a match they get another turn.
5.Players with the most matches wins! Afterwards see if your students can make NEW compound words by combining two words and making odd combinations.
You can also play this game as a Kagan: Stand up, Hands up, Pair up. You can also play this game as “I have, who has” in a literacy station..
**great for literacy stations/ centers/ small group/ whole group Kagan exercises **
