Entice the child’s curiosity for language with early successes using these 3-part compound word language cards, which are ideal for a Montessori classroom. This set includes 48 control cards (picture and label together), 48 mute cards (pictures only), and 96 label cards that will make the compound words to label all 48 pictures when matched correctly. With such an assortment of cards, this material can easily be broken down in sets of 24, 16, 12, or 8 (depending on number of students) to be used as a Language Center activity. By initiating a brief conversation about each real-life photograph, this material enables a perfect opportunity to teach vocabulary.
I have included a page to explain 5 various lesson presentations to accommodate a vast array of reading levels for teachers who are not familiar with Montessori Language material lessons. I also included an additional set of the beginning word labels in a different color to help younger readers, and children new to the compound word concept, differentiate between beginning and ending words. There is a control chart (answer key) included with all of the compound words in the set listed for independent readers to self-correct.
I recommend printing on card stock paper and laminating with at least a 3 mil film for durability.
