How to Use:
Teachers tell me this activity is great for a mini-lesson, review,
homework, and for substitute-teacher plans. It could be used as an
intro to a unit or a review at the end of a unit.
Directions for Handouts:
Circle the smaller words inside the larger word.
Write the meaning (definition) of the word.
Draw a picture to illustrate the compound word.
For handouts with blank lines...
*teachers can write in words and copy the handout for all students.
*teachers can write in words for specific students
(or groups of students) for individualized / differentiated work.
*students can write in compound words.
*students could look in stories/text to find compound words.
