This product comes with 2 activities to help your students strengthen their knowledge of compound words.
The first activity requires students to catch a ball (one word) with a mitt (another word) to create a compound word. It comes with 3 different recording sheets to choose from. Essentially, students are matching two different words to create a brane new word.
The second activity can be easily made into a file folder game. It asks students to separate word cards into two teams: compound word team, and non-compound word team. This activity comes with 2 recording sheets.
This product would be great for advanced 1st graders, 2nd graders, or struggling 3rd graders. It addresses 2nd grade common core standards.
