Contents and Ideas for Use
Compound Words Anchor Chart- I posted mine on the wall, but you could create an anchor chart with your students using the examples and printables. Includes an I-can statement and mini posters.
Compound Word Cards Match-Up- Students who need extra practice with compound words and their meanings can work with a parent volunteer, a classmate, or the teacher to match up and discuss the words that make up each compound word.
Roam the Room with Compound Words- My kiddos loved this! I posted the cards around the room, gave each student the recording sheets, and paired them up. Students go around the room to each card posted and write the two words that make up the compound word pictures, then write the meaning of the compound word in the spaces provided on the recording sheet.
Compound Words Extra Practice- Name That Compound Word and Compound Creations printables.
Assessments- These pages are great to use to assess students' learning and need for extra support. There are two options depending on your students’ abilities.
