This was made to correlate with the reading curriculum Journey's week one story "The Trial of Cardigan Jones." I used this in my third grade classroom as a graphic organizer. While they read the story in their text book aloud with a partner, they searched for compound words in the text. This was their recording sheet. We placed the compound word on the first line, then wrote the two smaller words on individual lines, in the set up of a number sentence. FOR EXAMPLE: "snowman = snow + man"
