This is a Spanish unit is over an endangered species called quokkas. It takes a true story of an escaped quokka and makes it into a very memorable Spanish story. The story is delivered in the approach of Comprehensible Input, meaning it is very easy to understand and teach. I used these ideas with my 1st though 5th graders but it can be adopted to high school or even adults.

-Powerpoint with ¿Qué son los quokkas? and ¡Se busca un quokka! stories and activities
-Wanted poster for classroom
-La Chuleta (The Cheat Sheet) to review vocab and to use as a study guide
-The Story as a Reading
-The Making Predictions Sheet
-The 4-Frame Storyboard Sheet
-The Test
-The Modified Test

The text has been edited by a native Spanish speaker.

Activities you can do include readers theater, PQA (Personalized Questioning and Answering), highly interesting videos for MovieTalks, story retell, listen & draw, storyboard creation, transcription, exit tickets, "do now" activities, Brain Breaks, compare & contrast, an infographic, a meme, a class video, a model magic art activity, a chronological order activity, predict what will happen next, and a parallel story with a raccoon.
