Product Description
Asking Questions Before Reading/ Inferring

- This worksheet helps students become active readers by setting a purpose for reading by asking questions before and then reading to find out the answer(s) to the question(s).

- It also promotes inference skills as students learn that sometimes their questions are not answered in the text but good readers must sometimes infer the answers to those questions.

- Close reading is also required as students must return to the text to give evidence for their inferences.

- I have witnessed my students become more metacognitive readers with the support of this sheet.
