These comprehension bookmarks will allow your students to experience a piece of text with a specific focus. Students will write/draw the ideas they have while practicing their reading. They will think about a specific character in the text and write about what they know (and stems are provided for those who need some ideas) and learn about that character as they read. Finding opportunities to write about their interpretation of the text by writing what they are thinking helps students analyze what they are reading. Finally, students will think about the theme of their text and write about that using text evidence for support.
This document is meant to be printed - then copied so the teacher has a stack of copies. Cut the bookmarks in half down the middle - and then you have a set that are ready to go whenever you need them. This can easily be used with various pieces of text throughout the year. Having these ready to go will make it easy for the teacher to provide his/her students to focus on what they are reading.
** If you like this one - check out the other ones I have to have a variety! I will be adding even more soon!
** The preview snapshots only show one side of the bookmark and just a couple sections of what your students will do.
