Comprehension Practice Pages - This is a good packet for beginning/young readers. It is a packet of 15 comprehension practice pages intended to help students work towards reading for understanding. The stories are short, but provide enough content to let students work on the elements of a story and some beyond the text type thinking.
Comprehension with Nursery Rhymes- This is another packet for young readers. It provides students with the opportunity to work on both within and beyond the text type comprehension question through the use of familiar poems. The packet consists of 10 comprehension sheets, 10 answer sheet pages and nursery rhyme cards. The cards can be used to both allow students to become familiar with the rhymes and also to build fluency.
Animal Nonfiction Comprehension- This is a good packet for stronger readers and/or to expose students to the content with support. The pages also work well for a close read passages. The packet includes 18 comprehension pages to help students learn facts about various animals and the habitats that they live in. This packet exposes students to nonfictional information and allows them to think about what they have learned as they answer the comprehension questions.
Space Comprehension Sheets - This is another packet for stronger readers or for supportive/close reading. The 6 comprehension sheets along with an observation recording sheet are intended to be a tool that you can use to help students learn about space and Earth’s place in the universe. The topics included are Earth, planets, the sun, the moon, stars, and the solar system. While the topics are quite large, these sheets provide students with facts at a basic level appropriate for primary students.
Comparing and Connecting Texts - This is also a packet for stronger readers or supportive reading. It was created as a resource for helping to teach the common reading standards of informational text. This packet includes 10 pages, each page has two short stories that can be compared. They were purposely kept short in order to fit them on one page and to allow students the opportunity to quickly read stories that can be compared. While the stories are short, the vocabulary is intended to be rich and somewhat challenging.
