7 sets of 4 questions for September 15th-21st precepts (28 questions total)
Each set includes a question for vocabulary, author's purpose, connections and student reflection.
Like you, I wasn't surprised when a book of precepts, "365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne's Precepts," was published to accompany the novel "Wonder" by RJ Palacio.
However, my students needed scaffolding to get the most out of Mr. Browne's precepts. They had not yet learned how to break apart dense texts or to keep going past surface-level meaning.
Use one prompt per day for a week or up to four in one class. Use them to guide literature circles, paragraph writing, or both. Use them in date order or not. It's up to you; you know your students best.
Don't forget to leave feedback and follow! I'd love to hear if you want more question sets. -Maria
