R.E.A.C.H. is a comprehension strategy that can be used with literature and informational text. Students learn to analyze text through asking literal as well as deep, evaluative questions.
Problem: When you ask students what they remember from what they read, they can’t seem to remember anything!
Teacher Objective: To help students read with a “questioning” mind.
Student Learning Goals:
I can infer and ask and respond to questions.
I can identify types of questions.
I can review a reading selection and record important ideas.
I can ask and respond to questions, supporting my answers with evidence.
This download can be used to address Reading Informational Text and Reading Literature standards for all intermediate, middle and high school grade levels.
