PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Guided Reading comprehension work, Readers Workshop, and the literacy skills to go along with Doug Cushman’s early fluency leveled book, "Aunt Eater’s Mystery Halloween", are here. There are comprehension questions for each mystery, a non-fiction passage with 2 variations of written follow-ups, charting labels with a photographic example of a graphic organizer for you to easily create your own, and end-of-book project ideas for multiple levels of Bloom’s. There’s a game for practicing “ea” vs. “short e” vowels that can be used 2 ways, a searching for sight words needing a magnifying glass to see, and a contraction matching task. You will, also, find some links for brief informational sites on the author. This is a very low prep unit and always a hit with early chapter book readers, even if not completed during the season. The reading levels for the text are: Lexile 260L, DRA 18, Grade Level Equivalent 2.7, Guided Reading K. Since the text is mysterious rather than scary, it can be used with high first graders, low third graders, or students with developmental disabilities or Autism within this reading range as well.
