PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Every teacher encounters the problem of a student making careless errors on a reading test because they did not take the time to read through the passage carefully. With the strategy of visualization, students' engagement in a passage, their active attention to the details they are reading is increased and as a result, errors decrease. This strategy has been a hit in my classroom for years now and has proven time and time again to benefit EVERY reader. Students’ performances on district wide testing as well as standardized state testing has amazed me every year as a result of students taking their time to really understand what they read.
Included in this product:
Helpful hints for teaching this method
Step by step breakdown of drawing details for each paragraph read
Individual and group activities that can extend to any passage you use during reading time in your classroom
A sample assessment and self-reflection sheet to complete upon completion
