This unit includes three lessons related to basic computer equipment and how to use it: the core components of a computer, peripheral computer devices, and storage devices. The lesson outlines and practice/assessment activities are designed to be used with any third-grader through adult who has limited computer knowledge or needs reinforcement of computer equipment concepts. The labeling activity associated with each lesson is a fun way to assess mastery of the content.
Recommendations for tailoring the lessons to younger or older students are included, and “bonus” questions allow the teacher to add discussion points to the lessons if his or her students need additional challenge.
The materials are provided in one PDF binder that includes assessment keys.
Important Note: Lesson one of this unit is included in my full fifth grade computer curriculum package.
