Here is my Excel Workbook to go with the skills ladders. It is always a work in progress and is editable so you can adapt it for your school. I have filled in the E- Safety section so that you can get an idea about how to use it.
I have put in a lot of websites that deal with Internet Issues. The worksheet covers year 1-6 but you can edit the class details and the web links would be valuable for other ages.
There is a column for names and then an option to score 1/2/3 in each lesson column so that you can keep track to see if children are working above or below expected level.
You can also record if they have missed some or all of the lesson or failed to save their work correctly.
I have put in suggested skills to cover per year group per term, this is only a guideline.
Sometimes there may seem a lot of skills but some can be just discussed or shown visually.
I have put a lot of work into the Internet Safety resources as I feel very passionate about the need to teach children the wonder of the Internet but also the need to keep themselves safe.
You must watch and explore each resource to make sure it is suitable for your children. Some years we change when we show our children resources, either because they are not ready or because an incident has flagged a worry or need for knowledge.
I always label my classes by year of entry to make it easier to track them through the school and on websites.
I hope all this makes sense to you and simplifies what has become quite a vast and complicated subject.
