These Skills Ladders can be used to help deliver the Computing Curriculum.
You can work up the skills ladder with each year group although it may be covered in different ways at different levels. They cover all different aspects of computing.
Communicating, Collaborating and E-Safety, Multimedia, Digital Imagery , Music and Sound.
Data Handling, Research (using the Internet and Computer Software)
Control & Monitoring, Floor and Screen Turtles, Programing , Modelling & Simulation
They can be printed out or photocopied to A3 and laminated.
We have them on the wall in our suite with arrows for each class. Large arrows show progression up the ladders, small arrows show skills that have been learnt out of sequence. We have been using this system for some years now. The numbers are just for ease of reference.
They can also be printed for children to take home or for Buddies and Monitors.
With the skills ladders the children can advance their personal skills level if they have an interest.
You can use the editable Excel worksheets to keep track of areas classes have covered or to adapt the skills and print your own ladders.
Because of the nature of technology you may find skills that you need to add or remove each year to keep up with changes.
