With this deck of PowerPoint slides, students will learn four different ways to write concluding sentences. It will completely demystify the process and steer them away from writing sentences like this: "That's what I know about cats."
After reading the model paragraph, ask students to write a closing sentence in their writing journal and have them share it with a neighbor and possibly with the class. On follow-up slides, I offer an exemplar and an example of what not to do.
